Privacy Policy
The short version
Vaccination Tracker is a personal record-keeping app for your child's vaccinations. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers. All information you enter — your child's name, date of birth, vaccination records, photos, and notes — stays on your device.
We have no servers. We have no accounts. We have no analytics. We have no advertising partners. We never see your data.
This privacy policy explains, in plain English, what data the app handles and why.
1. Data we collect
None.
The app does not transmit any personal information off your device. There is no sign-up, no login, no cloud backup, no analytics, no crash reporting that includes user data, and no advertising identifiers.
All information stays in your device's local app storage, which is sandboxed by your device's operating system and only accessible to the Vaccination Tracker app on your device.
2. Data you enter
You may choose to enter the following information about your child:
- Name and date of birth
- Country and state/province
- Vaccination records (vaccine name, dose number, date given)
- Optional: provider name, lot number, notes
- Optional: a photo of your child (avatar)
- Optional: a photo of a vaccination record
This information is stored only on your device. You can delete it at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete All Data).
3. Permissions we request
We request the minimum permissions needed for the app to work. None of the data accessed by these permissions is transmitted off your device.
| Permission | Why | Where the data goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | To photograph a paper vaccination record (Premium feature) and to scan QR codes when importing a child profile from another phone | The image is processed locally and saved with the record on your device |
| Photo library | To pick an existing photo as your child's avatar or as a record attachment | The image is copied into the app's local storage on your device |
| Notifications | To remind you when a vaccine is due or overdue | All reminders are scheduled locally on your device — no server is involved |
You can deny any of these permissions and the rest of the app will continue to work.
4. Data sharing
We do not share your data with anyone. We have no third-party SDKs, no analytics providers, no advertising networks, and no business partners that receive data from the app.
When you choose to export your records — as a PDF, JSON backup, or QR code — that file is created on your device and shared via your operating system's standard share sheet (e.g., email, AirDrop, Messages). The destination of that file is your choice. We never see it.
When you choose to import records from a backup file or QR code, that file is read on your device only.
5. In-app purchases
The optional Premium upgrade is handled entirely by the app store you downloaded the app from. We do not see, receive, or store your payment information, billing address, or any account details from the store.
The app stores a single boolean on your device indicating whether you have purchased Premium.
6. Children's privacy
Vaccination Tracker is designed for parents and guardians to track their children's vaccination records. The app is not directed at children, and children are not the users of the app.
Because the app does not transmit any data to us, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from anyone — on our servers (we have no servers).
If a parent enters information about a child into the app, that information is stored locally on the parent's device under the parent's control. The parent can delete that information at any time.
This approach is consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the additional protections for personal data of children (sometimes called "GDPR-K" or Article 8).
7. Data retention
Data you enter remains on your device until you delete it from within the app or uninstall the app. We do not retain any copies of your data, because we never receive any.
8. Your rights
Because we do not collect or store your personal data, most data protection rights (access, deletion, correction, export) are exercised directly through the app:
- Access / view your data: Open the app.
- Export your data: Settings → Backup Data (JSON file) or Share via QR Code.
- Correct your data: Edit or delete records in the app.
- Delete your data: Settings → Delete All Data, or uninstall the app.
- Stop processing: Uninstall the app.
If you have questions about how the app works, you can reach us at the email address below.
9. Security
Your data is protected by the standard sandboxing and encryption that your device's operating system provides for app data. We do not add additional encryption on top, because the data does not leave your device.
If you choose to back up your device using your device's built-in cloud backup, your operating system may include the app's local data in that backup, subject to that backup service's privacy policy. We are not involved in that process.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data — for example, if a future version added an optional cloud sync feature — we would update this policy and notify users in the app before the change takes effect.
Changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective date" at the top of this page.
11. Not medical advice
Vaccination Tracker is a personal record-keeping tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Vaccine schedule recommendations shown in the app are based on publicly available guidance from the following official authorities, depending on the country selected for each child profile:
- United States — Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- Canada — Public Health Agency of Canada / National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI)
- Mexico — Secretaría de Salud / Programa de Vacunación Universal (PVU)
- United Kingdom — NHS / Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI)
- Australia — Department of Health and Aged Care / Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI)
Always consult a licensed healthcare provider for your child's vaccinations.
